Seeds too pretty to plant?

Sometimes when you open a packet of seeds you find that the seeds themselves are so gorgeous it almost seems a shame to sow them. Like this Rainbow Inca sweetcorn, which comes in a tantalising mixture of reds, pinks, oranges, yellows, purples and charcoal blacks, not to mention combinations of stripes and streaks of all colours. These seeds did end up buried in compost modules ... but it pained me to do it!

Anyone else got any seeds which are too beautiful to plant?

French beans are often very beautiful. This is an old heritage variety called Coco Bicolour.

And here's dwarf French bean Purple Prince. They look more like gemstones than beans!

But just think - if you do sow them come September you'll be able to harvest so many more!

I always enjoy looking at all the different types of beans in the seed catalogs. I know what you mean: some of them look too beautiful to plant!

Yes, I have beans that I also find very difficult to plant as they are very pretty. In Holland we call them Holy or Sacred Beans because on one side there's a picture of an angel. I will put a pic of these beans on my blog soon!

I can understand why you have trouble planting those beans!!!
